If you’ve been following my Instagram it’s no secret that I’ve developed a bit of an obsession with smoothie bowls since we’ve been in Bali. Almost every day of our trip I’ve enjoyed a smoothie bowl and I’m sure I’ve tried more than thirty different ones and well over a hundred in total. At this stage I think I can regard myself as a Bali smoothie bowl expert! So if you want to know where to find some of the best smoothie bowls in Bali then you are in the right place.
It was too difficult to choose just ten Bali smoothie bowls so I narrowed it down to my ten favorite spots where you can get the best smoothie bowls. While many travelers and expats enjoy eating smoothie bowls in the morning, almost all of these cafes and restaurants serve their bowls all day. I’ve eaten them for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
Just about every smoothie bowl will come topped with toasted granola, so I always order mine without to keep it raw and gluten-free. I like them much better this way as it allows for more ease of digestion and greater benefit from the health-promoting effects of the delicious tropical fruits.
We’ve been staying in the Canggu area, which is also the best part of Bali to be in if you love smoothie bowls. While I am sure there are some delicious bowls I’ve yet to discover, and there is always a new healthy cafe to explore, what follows are some of the Bali smoothie bowls that I have most enjoyed, in no particular order. They are all fantastic in their own way!
The Shady Shack
This vegetarian restaurant is one of the coolest hangouts in Canggu, which has a wide choice of vegan dishes and something to appeal to everyone. Their raw desserts are some of the best in the area, especially anything with chocolate.

They offer five different smoothie bowls that are all delicious and I’ve definitely enjoyed more bowls here than any other place in Bali. I love them all but I tend to most often go for the Berry Bush, pictured above, which is a combination of blueberries, red dragonfruit and banana blended with almond milk and topped with coconut, bee pollen, papaya and pineapple. I added extra goji berries as well.
If it is your first visit I would recommend the Lost Paradise – an icy blend of dragonfruit and banana, topped with coconut, chia and a selection of the best of the island’s tropical fruits. Their Cacao Dreams bowl is super-indulgent and gives you permission to eat a creamy raw chocolate dessert for breakfast.
Two Trees Eatery
This relative newcomer to the Canggu scene has recently become our number one option for Sunday brunch. Their selection of smoothie bowls are really unique including superfoods like moringa, mangosteen, activated charcoal, pumpkin seed butter, ashwaghanda, colloidal silver and rosella.
I really enjoyed the Sunny Days bowl – a blend of mango, banana, coconut oil, raw honey, turmeric, lime and coconut water and topped with cacao nibs – accompanied by their Evergreen juice containing pineapple, moringa, basil, mint, celery, cucumber, lime and apple.
Samadi Kitchen is connected to a popular yoga center and serves up healthy vegetarian food all day. Try to visit on Sunday morning when they have an organic market with fresh fruit and vegetables as well as other locally made products.
If you have a healthy appetite you can try the Glow Bowl made with pineapple, banana, fresh coconut cream, turmeric and cinnamon topped with coconut flakes, pumpkin and sunflower seeds and sliced almonds. The Pink Is Punk bowl was a delightful blend of red dragonfruit, strawberries, banana and fresh coconut milk, topped with coconut flakes, chia and a generous helping of extra strawberries and banana.
This vegan cafe is one of the most popular in the area with some of the prettiest smoothie bowls like the Blue Island Bowl that comes decorated with dragonfruit dolphins and papaya palm trees. It is a blend of banana, blue majik spirulina, coconut milk, dates and cashew butter. However, my choice would be the Green Bowl – a combination of mango, banana, spirulina, moringa and coconut water.
This is one of the few places that only serves their smoothie bowls for breakfast, so make sure you arrive before noon. After that time they offer delicious fresh salads, raw tacos and veggie burgers, but if you are still craving breakfast you can get avocado toast all day.
In The Raw
Probably the biggest selection of smoothie bowls can be found at In The Raw. More Passion, Less Fashion is a combination of pineapple, papaya, passionfruit and coconut. The Bali passionfruit is super-sweet and an absolute must-try during your visit.
My favorite smoothie bowl on the menu is the Komodo Dragon, which has red dragonfruit, pineapple, mango and coconut. They also have an Acai bowl and their Chocoholic bowl lives up to it’s name. Additionally you can get your fix of cold-pressed juices here.
The bowls at Cafe Vida are like a work of art thanks to their very talented smoothie baristas. This is the Amazon Acai with mango, banana, blueberries, strawberry, acai topped with superfoods and grain-free granola. My favorite would probably be the Bali Bliss which has pineapple, papaya, banana, lime, spinach, moringa, matcha, basil seeds, turmeric, ginger and coconut milk topped with passionfruit, blueberries, shredded coconut and flaxseeds.
The Avocado Factory
There is only one smoothie bowl on the menu at the Avocado Factory but it is something special. The Avo Bliss is creamy blend of avocado, coconut yogurt, dates and banana topped with more avocado, strawberries, coconut, chia and sunflower seeds.
Kynd community is a cute little plant-based cafe located in Seminyak. It felt like one of those places where the cool kids go to be seen and snap photos for their social media. All the bowls come topped with words spelt out in mango letters like “Be Kynd”, “Self Love” or “Good Vibes” adding to the Instagram appeal.
I did enjoy their Berry Tropical smoothie bowl made from frozen dragonfruit, banana, berries and coconut water. It’s probably the only smoothie bowl I’ve had that didn’t contain any added fats like coconut so it was very light and refreshing. They also have a green bowl with banana, mango, spinach, spirulina, flax, maca and coconut water.
Nalu Bowls claim to be the original Bali smoothie bowl and they are still a popular choice. I’ve tried a few of their bowls including the Pipeline above made with banana, pineapple, mango and coconut milk, as well as the Maverick, which is their secret acai blend. But I most enjoyed the Uluwatu, which is a refreshing combination of dragonfruit, raspberry, papaya and banana topped with strawberries, mango and coconut flakes.
If you appreciate matcha tea you will love this cafe, which serves ceremonial grade organic tea and a variety of matcha-infused food and beverages.
The Matcha Acai Superfood bowl has acai, dragonfruit, banana and matcha blended with coconut water and topped with raspberries, blackberries, goji berries, chia seeds and bee pollen. Their Matcha Earth bowl is another great option containing banana, avocado, kale, moringa, dates, matcha, aloe vera and coconut water topped with seasonal fruits.
I hope you find this helpful if you are planning a visit to Bali. It really is one of the best places in the world if you appreciate fresh, healthy plant-based food and I doubt there is anywhere else on the planet that has so many smoothie bowls to choose from in such a small area. All of these places except for one are within about a five minute drive from each other and it has been a wonderful experience to be able to access such amazing food at extremely affordable prices as well.
